Two years ago, we were thinking about building our dream home. Empty lots were available very near to us, and we decided to walk through a home being built by Justin Orley. During the walk through, we met a subcontractor. Unsolicited, the subcontractor told us that Justin Orley was the best builder he had ever worked for and he further said that he had worked “for all of them”. This sentiment was repeated with 2 other subcontractors, again, unsolicited by us. We decided to pull the trigger and 18 months later we moved into our dream house. Justin was fair and honest. We knew our pricing up front-it was realistic and included generous allowances. Along the way there were many questions and a few minor problems. All were handled in a professional, expedient manner. Our new home is absolutely perfect- Justin took care of every detail. We have complete trust in Justin and he has continued to be responsive after the move with the small details associated with new construction. We have built before and we certainly di not enjoy the experience! With Justin, it was very different and we actually enjoyed the process and love the results. Building a home is usually one of the most stressful things you can do, but our experience with Justin Orley was the exact opposite, it was actually wonderful. What really sets Orley Homes apart is that Justin is a very low-volume builder. He isn't trying to juggle dozens of projects at once; instead, he focuses entirely on the quality and the fine details of the few homes he does build in a given year. The best part for us was the personalized touch. You work directly with Justin the entire time and aren't just delegated to a project manager or some random assistant. He was on-site personally supervising the work every step of the way.
We were also really impressed with how he handled the business side of things. He came in exactly on budget, and he isn’t the type of builder who tries to nickel and dime you at every opportunity. We had several change orders throughout the build, and they were never a problem; in fact, I don't recall being assessed any fees related to those changes. Justin clearly has great relationships with the best tradesmen in the industry, and you can see that they don't cut corners. Even the logistical side was easy—we brought our own drawings from our own architect, and Justin had no issue working with them. He clearly has a great reputation with the local building and engineering departments, too, because we had zero issues with permits or inspections. If we ever decided to build again, we would only consider Orley Custom Homes.
